Dr. Seyed Taghi Nourbakhsh, the Managing Director of Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) declared in a meeting with the President of Iraq’s Pension Fund: The ISSO sixty years of experience provides a unique opportunity for bilateral cooperation in the fields of social insurance, health, economic relations, tourism and trade with Iraq.
Introducing different operational domains of the ISSO activities, he added that the health section plays a very important role in attracting the insured population. The ISSO has got 73 hospitals and 354 clinics which can provide health services to Iraqi patients. We suggest that the two organizations establish a joint working group to identify the capacities of developing mutual collaboration in different domains.
During this meeting, Dr. Reza Raei, the Vice-President of the ISSO emphasized: Cooperation with Iraq provides the infrastructure of pension and retirement services promotion in this country. Considering the actuarial evaluations and inspecting the working places as the most important issues of Iraq Pension Fund, he asserted that the ISSO is prepared to consult and share its experience in the field of technical and revenue affairs with them. He also announced Tourism, ICT and Investment as the other possible fields in which the two countries can cooperate.
President of Iraq’s Pension Fund stated: "Iraq needs to benefit from the experience and knowledge of Iranian Social Security Organization in the field of actuarial evaluations in order to regulate its retirement law".
He introduced the social security services in Iraq and said: “Currently, we face some limitations in delivering health services to the Iraqi insured population, and we are planning to construct hospitals especially for the insured population.
Finally, he declared that 60 percent of Iraq’s public tourism company belongs to the Pension Fund and we have got the advantage of a great potential of investing in health and religious tourism with Iran.
