In the presence of Mr. Hans-Horst Konkolewsky, ISSA Secretary General, and Mr. Deepak Kumar, Chairman of the Steering Committee, ISSA Liaison Office for South Asia, the Technical Seminar on Administrative and Operational Efficiency: ICT, Human Resources, Organizational Structure and Extension of Coverage was held in Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran, from 30-31 August 2016.
The theme of the Technical Seminar was based on the ISSA guidelines on Good Governance and ICT.
The participation of ISSA member representative from South Asia and South-East Asia presenting their best practice reports enriched the exchange of views and experiences on the topical themes.
The event provided a unique opportunity to social security senior managers, professional administrators and talented experts from a variety of ISSA member organizations such as the National Pension Service (Republic of Korea); Employees State Insurance Corporation (India); Employees Provident Fund (Nepal); Social Security Organization (Malaysia); Ministry of Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare (I.R. Iran), Iranian Social Security Organization, Iranian Rural Residents Pension Fund, as well as Iranian Civil Servants Pension Fund to share their technical knowledge and practical experience in key areas of social security, and debate how insurance systems can evolve to address major socio-economic challenges in view of social, demographic, labor-market and economic realities.
They also discussed the essential role of leadership and innovation in times of change, the barriers and enabling factors for social security excellence and exchange their technical knowledge and practical experience on best practices in the fields of good governance, advanced ICT solutions, service delivering transformations, human resource management, and coverage extension.
