Fajr Decade – Victory Decade of the Islamic Revolution & Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO):
At the threshold of the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, the Managing Director of the ISSO announced launching of several insurance, medical and economic programs and projects of the ISSO at the news conference.
Dr. Seyed Taghi Nourbakhsh, while emphasizing the social security system improvement as the most suitable and the most efficient method to improve the low income groups, said that several projects amounting to 550 billion tomans will be exploited during the Fajr Decade.
He added that the construction of 3 medical projects and running of 33 projects are started of which there are 6 social security branches, 7 health centers and 1 hospital.
Noting to 141800000000 tomans dedicated to medical and insurance projects, economic projects such as implementing two pharmaceutical lines will be started during the Fajr Decade amounting to 415 billion tomans. The executive operation of producing Syringe will begin in EXIR Factory. Four other projects will be exploited in petrochemical, Iranol Oil and Steel companies. Producing H300 girders with the capacity of 350000 tons annually is another project amounting to 200 billion tomans in Esfahan Steel Company as well.
ISSO ceases playing entrepreneurial role
Dr. Nourbakhsh announced that the budget of the next year is 98684 billion tomans which is being reviewed by the Board and there may be some increase or decrease in ratification procedure. The Managing Director of the ISSO said that appropriate use of economic corporations is one of the main policies of the Organization and while preserving the contributory resources, we shall endeavor to cease playing entrepreneurial role.
Suggestions on increasing the retirement age
Dr. Nourbakhsh remarked that though the increased rate of life expectancy in the country from 56 years in 1975 to 77 years at present, increasing the pension age has not been suggested by the ISSO, but the Joint Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly has emphasized related parametric reforms.
Payment of the new year (1397) bonus
The ISSO estimated the total amount of New Year bonus as 2100 billion tomans which will be paid in alphabet order.
Agreement on debt settlement to the ISSO
Dr. Nourbakhsh informed that through the latest ratifications on government debts to ISSO, 50000 billion tomans of the debts of the government will be settled.
The debts of public, university and private sections to the ISSO are about 2000 billion tomans. To settle the debts, the ISSO, the Ministry of Health as well as the Management and Planning Organization have come to this decision to allocate 300 billion tomans in the form of bonds, and we also allocate 300 billion tomans in cash. In this regard, 600 billion tomans out of 800 billion tomans debt will be settled, he continued.
New facilities of the ISSO for the unemployed beneficiaries
to return to work
The Ministry of Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare has introduced a scheme through which an unemployed person receiving unemployment benefits, in case of calling for job, will receive a part of his/her wage from the ISSO in line with supporting the employer. This may lead to develop employment.
Issuance of 100 million electronic prescriptions
100 million electronic prescriptions were issued after the elimination of the medical booklets in health centers owned by the ISSO. This scheme is being implemented in other centers and 340 practitioners are now covered by the scheme in Yazd Province.
Insurance Coverage for the journalists
Mr. Amir Abbas Taghipour - Director General of the ISSO Public Relations Department said that we have had negotiations on journalists insurance during the last 4 years which resulted in signing MoU between the ISSO and Ministry of Culture & Islamic Guidance, with the aim of facilitating the said procedure through which all journalists are to be recognized for insurance coverage. The employers are also obliged to insure the journalists and this issue shall not become a challenge, he concluded.
